Fantasy Football 2013: Buffalo Bills Early Season Preview

Kevin Hoffman- USA Today Sports

In the following weeks, I will be walking you through all 32 NFL teams in a fantasy football perspective. I will give you predictions, rankings, sleepers and much more so you can be fully prepared for draft day. Today, I am going to walk you through the Buffalo Bills.

When you think of the Bills, you think of a forever-mediocre squad who is unexciting. They play the New England Patriots twice a year, which are usually two losses. Playing in the AFC East is not glamorous and finishing last to teams like the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins is never good.

The Bills let Ryan Fitzpatrick go this offseason, and they brought in Kevin Kolb to replace him. Beside quarterback, the Bills have serious fantasy threats. Despite them being a bad team, they aren’t a bad fantasy football team.

Quarterback: You don’t want Kolb as your starter. Unless you’re in a very deep league, don’t even think about drafting him.

Running Back: This is the gold mine of the team. C.J Spiller was a breakout star last year, finishing seventh in most standard leagues. Spiller is very young who can catch and has big play potential. Spiller is a fantastic option that you could very well get in the second round of your draft.

Wide Receiver: This is another intriguing position on the Bills. Stevie Johnson is a modern day Chad Ochocinco in the way he acts out, but he still produces. Relying on him for a second receiver could be a risk that pays off. It really depends on how he and Kolb work together. I wouldn’t take him earlier than the seventh round.

Tight End: Scott Chandler isn’t the best tight end you can find. He is a solid sleeper tight end, but he isn’t going to be a reliable starter for you.
