2013 Fantasy Baseball: Prospect Miguel Sano Is A Shining Star

The Minnesota Twins farm system may not be full of household names just yet, but one name that fantasy baseball owners have become very familiar with in recent years has been 3B Miguel Sano.

Sano may only be 19-years-old, but the Twins’ top prospect is already a movie star. The infielder was apart of the documentary “Ballplayer: Pelotero” which followed young Dominican prospects through the minors a couple years ago.

Sano now has a camera crew filming his own ascension through the minors and the youngster has quickly caught the attention of the nation. Documentary filmmaker, Ross Finkel, is making a movie about the Dominican sensation and it is aptly titled “The Miguel Sano Story”.

Currently with the Fort Myers Miracles, Sano is the youngest player in the Florida State League. He has already blasted 10 home runs with 31 RBIs through the first 33 games and has an insane .377 batting average. The kid has quickly become one of the top prospects featured in Baseball America’s top-100 on a yearly basis.

Sano was originally a shortstop, but has since been transitioned over to third due to his massive weight gain and vast comparisons to Detroit Tigers 3B Miguel Cabrera. He has matured nicely at the hot corner and is one of the best power-hitters slugging around in the minors right now.

Sano likely won’t make it to the majors until 2014, but make no doubt about it, this kid is special. He is one of the best pure hitters in baseball and this kid isn’t even 20 years old yet.
