2013 Fantasy Football Preview: Kenny Britt
Just a few years ago, Tennessee Titans‘ wide receiver Kenny Britt was in the discussion for the status of “Elite Receiver” in the NFL with the likes of players like Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson.
Then, he suffered a series of injury and legal problems and kind of faded out of the discussion. His drop in status is exactly why this talented NFL receiver should be on your 2013 Fantasy Football team, and why he would be a steal in your Fantasy draft.
Britt is big, physical receiver and can make spectacular catches. He’s the type of player that can catch it short and then run over the defense for huge gains.
This season, Britt has been set up to succeed more than usual. Jake Locker is a young quarterback and finally has an offensive line that can block for him long enough to get the ball down the field. However, he will still need a go-to receiver. Nate Washington has been his main target over his short career, but Britt hasn’t been around often enough to make an impact.
The Titans have one of the best young receiving corps in the NFL with Kendall Wright and new addition Justin Hunter. The number of talented receivers, along with Chris Johnson in the backfield, means that opposing defenses will be vulnerable to one-on-one defending; something that Britt specializes in breaking for touchdowns.
Britt may not be your first receiver chosen for your Fantasy Football team, but he will be a coveted asset as the season gets closer to the playoffs. Watch for Britt to have a breakout season in 2013.
