2013 Fantasy Baseball: OF Oswaldo Arcia Impressive Since Return

The Minnesota Twins currently have one of the most loaded farm systems according to most fantasy baseball scholars. They have popular sticks like Miguel Sano and Aaron Hicks. Not to mention prospect pitchers like Kyle Gibson, Kohl Stewart, and Jose Berrios.

Among all of Minnesota’s prospects, though, OF Oswlado Arica is perhaps the most underrated of them all. He has been called up, sent down, and called back up. Yet all the kid does is put up decent fantasy numbers when given the shot.

The outfielder most recently rejoined the Twinkies on June 11th. Since that point, the 22-year-old is 25-for-75 and has an amazing .333 batting average. He has raised his batting average from .255 all the way up to a respectable .281. The youngster has even added two home runs, six double, and 12 RBIs in the 22 games since rejoining the team.

OAR has proven his fantasy worth game after game, but yet has continued to go unnoticed in a majority of leagues. Hicks currently has an embarrassing .189 batting average at the moment and the popular outfielder has been a mess offensively despite all the web gems he has made defensively. Arica is the better of the two young outfielders, regardless of Baseball America’s opinion, and fantasy owners finally need to realize it.

Arcia may not be a reliable starter in all formats just yet, but he will be a solid third outfielder in deeper leagues for the rest of the year and will be an experienced keeper heading into the 2014 season.
