The summer race in Daytona may not draw the attention of the Daytona 500, but it is still a popular event for fantasy NASCAR fans. To help you draft this week, here are the top-20 fantasy NASCAR drivers for the 2013 Coke Zero 400.
20. Casey Mears
Casey Mears – Mears has cracked the top-23 in seven straight races and will be a great low-end driver to grab.
19. Jeff Burton
Jeff Burton – Burton looked strong in practice and will start the Coke Zero 400 in 17th. JB has also cracked the top-19 in five of his last six races.
18. Paul Menard
Paul Menard – Menard has cracked the top-18 in six of his last seven trips to Daytona.
17. Aric Almirola
Aric Almirola - Double A has finished inside the top-21 in 13 of his last 14 races this season.
16. Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Stenhouse Jr. has quietly finished inside the top-20 in 10 of his last 12 races this year.
15. Denny Hamlin
Denny Hamlin – Hamlin was red-hot when he finally got back behind the wheel. He had three straight top-six finishes and won two poles. However, Hamlin has only cracked the top-20 once in his last five races and will start this weekend in 24th.
14. Greg Biffle
Greg Biffle – Biffle has not cracked the top-15 in Daytona’s summer race since 2007.
13. Juan Pablo Montoya
Juan Pablo Montoya – JPM has finished inside the top-20 in seven of the last eight races.
12. Jeff Gordon
Jeff Gordon – Gordon will start in 23rd, but he has three straight top-15 finishes during the summer race at Daytona.
11. Brad Keselowski
Brad Keselowski – Keselowski will start the race this weekend in 15th, and the way he is racing right now, the 2012 Sprint Cup Champ will struggle to crack the top-10.
10. Martin Truex Jr.
Martin Truex Jr. – MTJ has three top-seven finishes in the last three weeks, including his big win in Sonoma.
9. Joey Logano
Joey Logano – J-Lo has seven consecutive top-11 finishes. He may start the race back in 15th, but expect him to quickly make his way towards the front of the pack.
8. Kasey Kahne
Kasey Kahne – Kahne will start this Saturday’s race in fourth. During last year’s summer race at DIS, Kahne started third and finished seventh.
7. Clint Bowyer
Clint Bowyer – Bowyer will begin in third and the veteran will be a strong sleeper to look for after the big names come off the board.
6. Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Earnhardt Jr. has always raced hard at Daytona and was just edged by Jimmie Johnson to win the Daytona 500 earlier this year. Junior has cracked the top-15 in three straight races at Daytona and will be one of the safest picks heading to The Birthplace of Speed.
5. Carl Edwards
Carl Edwards – Edwards has cracked the top-six in five of his last six summer races in Daytona.
4. Tony Stewart
Tony Stewart – Stewart has won this race four of the last eight years. He may be struggling this season, but don’t count him out this weekend. Stewart loves racing in Daytona and will likely have another strong showing.
3. Kyle Busch
Kyle Busch – Busch will start the Coke Zero 400 on top of the pole. He already has 10 top-10 finishes on the year, so expect him to easily rack up his 11th in Daytona this Saturday night.
2. Jimmie Johnson
Jimmie Johnson – Johnson won the Daytona 500 earlier this year. He will start this year back in ninth and it won't take long for him to make his way inside of the top-five.
1. Matt Kenseth
Matt Kenseth – Kenseth will get to start second in this Saturday’s race. He is coming off a win at the Quaker State 400 and even won the Nationwide race in Daytona on Friday night, so expect the K-Man to be the most popular fantasy selection this Saturday night.
