2013 Fantasy Baseball: OF Adam Jones Staying Hot In Second Half

Joy R. Absalon-USA TODAY Sports

The Baltimore Orioles have been in the middle of an offensive explosion this season and right in the middle of it is OF Adam Jones. The outfielder has anchored plenty of fantasy baseball lineups and truly earned his trip to the All-Star game.

AJ was red-hot before the All-Star break. He hit a home run in three straight games heading into the turn and shockingly had a homer in each game of the series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Jones also scored seven runs, drove in six, and drew three walks in the series. It was a stellar finish to a stellar first half.

After the break, Jones has shown no signs of slowing down. In his two games since the midway point, he has three hits, two RBIs, and a solo-homer. He has continued to crush the ball and looks primed to have another huge second half.

The centerfielder has already bashed 20 home runs on the year to go along with 69 RBIs and a gaudy .506 Slugging Percentage. He hit 32 long balls last year, but he only managed to drive in 82 runs. He should easily surpass those numbers this season and Jones is on the verge of his first 100-35-100 fantasy season.

Jones is even ranked third in the entire AL with 67 runs scored. He is hitting fourth and the outfielder is followed by Chris Davis and Matt Wieters in the O’s heavy-hitting lineup. The way the O’s are hitting right now, Jones has a chance to come home each time he gets on base, which only adds to his skyrocketing fantasy value.

Jones has emerged as a legitimate fantasy outfielder this season. Expect him to stay hot the rest of the year and finish among the top-10 in every offensive category in the AL.
