Outside of the actual fantasy football draft, one of the most fun things to do with your team is to give it a fantastic team name. You may just simply have, “Your Name” followed by “Team”, but what fun is that? A witty and clever team name can stand out to your friends and have you snickering every time you open up your league dashboard.

What to call your team is a tough decision. You’ve heard of countless team names that make you say, “Why didn’t I think of that”? Well, who says you can’t use them?

Just because someone from the opposite end of the country came up with a name you wish you had thought of doesn’t mean you can’t use it for your team. It’s still a fantastic team name, and the last time I checked, it’s not illegal to steal someone’s fantasy team name.

There are multiple ways to go about deciding what your team should be called. Maybe you’re a perennial fantasy champion and you want your team name to reflect your dominance. Maybe you’re the kind of guy who enjoys a good pun every now and then and wish to use a player’s name in a clever way. Or maybe you’re known as the big bad tough guy around your league and want something like Lesnar’s Hammer Fists as your name.

Kyle Orton may need a Who to come along and deal an injury to Tony Romo in order to see the field. It’s a long shot, but I bet you never believed anything like Who’s existed until Dr. Seuss opened your eyes to them.

Michelangelo, Rafael … well I can’t recall all of them. But no matter what, those tough turtles were awesome. Cam Newton is poised to have a fantastic season for his fantasy owners and will take out any defenders in his path and get that pizza pie.

While the murder investigation surrounding Aaron Hernandez is nothing to joke about, it will be a popular team name subject for this season. You can take multiple angles at a team name using Hernandez -- just try not offending anyone.

7. The Walking Dez

Dez Bryant is a big and physical receiver who has brought glory to his fantasy owners, and The Walking Dead is one of the most watched programs on television. You never know what’s going to happen next, but at some point, it’s going to get crazy.

6. Ridley's Believe It Or Not

I especially like this one because when you think of the New England Patriots, you don’t think major fantasy points from the running backs. But believe it or not, they have one of the highest rushing touchdown totals in the NFL.

5. I Pitta The Fool

The gold chain and Mohawk with a care-less attitude shouts toughness from Mr. T. Your catchphrase for this season has been found.

4. Wam Bam Thank You Cam

Newton is a popular fantasy option this season at quarterback, and you can use his name in a variety of ways. Get in and get out with a win is what you aim to do every fantasy week against your opponents, and this name speaks volumes.

3. Chalupa Batman

The popular show on FX, The League, is about a group of fantasy football players and the mischief that happens during their fantasy season. This team name let’s you relive the famous episode every time you log onto your fantasy home page.

2. Foster: Australian for Touchdown

Arian Foster has been a high fantasy draft pick for multiple years in a row. At approximately no. 2 overall, if you’re able to land him, this is a perfect team name -- a bigger name than most cans of beer; a bigger name than most total fantasy points at the position. Perfect.

While the fad may have diminished, everyone knows the famous song and dance. We all love to taunt our opponents when our players do well. Can you picture yourself sitting with your fantasy opponent and breaking out the dance every time Jimmy Graham scores?
