2013 Fantasy Baseball Playoffs: Don’t Give Up On SP Matt Harvey

The fantasy baseball playoffs have finally arrived, but some people are starting to lose faith in some of their aces. One of these superstar pitchers that is starting to fall apart at the end of the season is New York Mets SP Matt Harvey.

Harvey was once the hottest hurler in baseball. Over his last three starts, though, Harvey has an uncharacteristic 3.96 ERA and 1.60 WHIP. It is a far cry from the 4-0 record and 1.56 ERA that he amassed in the opening month of the season. However, things are looking up for Harvey this week.

The right-hander only has one start in the opening round of the fantasy playoffs, but fortunately for fantasy fans it comes on Thursday night against a struggling Philadelphia Phillies team.

Harvey has completely dominated his divisional foe so far this fantasy season. He has a 3-0 record in his three starts against Philly this year to go along with a 0.45 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 20 innings of work. Philadelphia has struggled to do anything against Harvey and I don’t expect the outcome to be any different this week.

Harvey will turn things around this week, so make sure to keep him in your lineup. Everyone struggles sometimes and expect the new King of New York to start his comeback against the lowly Phils.
