Knowshon Moreno is Undervalued in Many 2013 Fantasy Football Drafts

Knowshon Moreno Broncos RB

If there are two things that Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning cannot tolerate, it’s inconsistency and turnovers.

So far this pre-season, his two high-profile draft pick running backs (Ronnie Hillman and Montee Ball) have shown that they are both of these. Hillman has been fumbling too much for the teams’ liking and Ball has been struggling to protect Manning. Both of these men had great opportunities to take over the starting job in Denver, but none of them have done this so far.

That leaves the job wide open for Knowshon Moreno. Moreno was an afterthought last season for the Broncos and every fantasy football manager. At the beginning of the season, people knew that Willis McGahee would be the starter, and many believed that Hillman was the heir to the title. However, when McGahee went down for the season, it was not Hillman who would take over the role as the starting running back, but Moreno.

Moreno showed everything that Peyton Manning and the Denver offense wanted: good pass protection and a carefulness in not turning over the football (one fumble lost as a starter last season). Moreno was excellent at catching the ball out of the backfield, which is a great thing to be able to do under Manning. However, Moreno’s luck turned when he went down with an injury, making him questionable to keep his starting job.

I really can’t believe that Moreno is not getting a better shot at the starting job. However, I think you will see in the upcoming weeks that Moreno will be a huge factor in the Broncos’ offense, and will get you some good weeks this year in fantasy football.

Moreno is available in most drafts all the way to round 13 and beyond. That is huge bargain for someone who has the chance to become the running back under Peyton Manning. When you draft this weekend, please take a look at Knowshon Moreno. You will not regret the pick at all.
