2013 Fantasy Baseball Playoffs: The Hot Outfielders

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The outfield position has always been known as a spot to get power numbers and the fantasy baseball playoffs this year have been no different. Some of the game’s best outfielders have been crushing the ball in the fantasy postseason. Here are some of the top outfielders still swinging away in the fantasy playoffs.

Alfonso Soriano, New York Yankees – Soriano has been red-hot since coming over from the Chicago Cubs. The outfielder has carried the Bronx Bombers and has kept up his hot hitting right into the playoffs. In 12 postseason games this year, Soriano has four home runs and a staggering 15 RBIs.

Adam Jones, Baltimore Orioles – Jones is having a career season and he hasn’t slowed down in the fantasy playoffs. The center fielder has crushed three home runs this week alone and has driven in five runs.

Andrew McCutchen, Pittsburgh Pirates – McCutchen has been the hottest hitter in baseball this summer, as he has a .357 batting average and .448 On Base Percentage since the All-Star break. Cutch also homered in two consecutive games in the middle of the week and has been impossible to get out in the postseason. He is primed to explode in the upcoming scoring period with games against the Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers.

Jay Bruce, Cincinnati Reds – Bruce has two homers, 10 RBIs, and has scored seven runs in the playoffs this year. He may be hitting just .276 over that stretch, but his power numbers more than make up for the lack of singles.
