Expect Big Fantasy Game from Denver Broncos’ Wes Welker in Week 2
Manning Bowl Part Three is one of the many headlines entering Week 2. There is no question it will be an exciting game that will probably see the Denver Broncos defeat the New York Giants. With that being said, there are plenty of Fantasy Football owners who will be very interested in the contest because of the big players that will be on the field. Anyone who has Wes Welker on their roster should be in for a treat as the veteran wide receiver is poised to have a big game.
Many are wondering why Welker is the Broncos receiver that will dominate the stat sheet after Demaryius Thomas destroyed the Baltimore Ravens’ defense in Week 1. It is true that Thomas recorded a whopping 28 Fantasy points after he hauled in five receptions for 161 yards and two touchdowns. However, it is for that reason that will have the Giants all over him.
New York did a terrific job slowing down the Dallas Cowboys wide receivers on Sunday Night Football. In fact, no one recorded more than 72 receiving yards. Not to mention, it was tight end Jason Witten that caught the two touchdown passes. With that being said, the Broncos are not the Cowboys. They are a high-flying offense that will put New York’s pass defense to the test.
I believe the Giants will be determined to shut Thomas down. Obviously, Welker is a big name too, but Thomas has proven to be the guy that is capable of single-handedly dismantling a defense. Expect Welker to be targeted in the red zone frequently, as that is when New York will really pay close attention to Thomas.
