Fantasy Football Week 2 Dark Horse Sleeper: Harry Douglas

This week, I have a fantasy football dark horse sleeper for you that I think will not only could do well for your team for the short term, but can be someone you can use for the rest of the season. This player is Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Harry Douglas.

Everyone knows that the Falcons are a pass-happy team with quarterback Matt Ryan and pass catchers like Roddy White, Julio Jones and Tony Gonzalez. In Week 1 of the season, Douglas had a great game. He caught four passes for 93 yards. One of those long receptions went for 50 yards and set up the Falcons’ first touchdown of the game.

It is good to always check out the injury report leading up to the week. If you have been paying attention to the Falcons’ team injury report, you would have seen that White and Jones are both listed as questionable with ankle issues. Reports coming out of Atlanta are that White should play, but nothing like that has been said about Jones.

This could be a huge opportunity for Douglas to not only display his skills for coach Mike Smith, but also gives him a chance to impress many more fantasy owners into picking him up for their own teams.

If you own either White or Jones, I highly recommend picking up Douglas. Even if you don’t own either of those players, pick up Douglas anyway because he will see a great deal of playing time this year and will at the very least be a nice flex option.
