The former Georgia standout racked up 66 tackles last season and recorded a career-high 10 sacks. It was a true breakout campaign, but yet many fantasy owners were skeptical about his value heading into this season.
Kansas City may have just finished their third game of the season, but no one is doubting the IDP value of this third-year linebacker anymore. In Thursday night’s victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, Houston once again was unblockable. He finished the career contest with seven tackles and an astonishing 3.5 sacks.
In Week 1, Houston similarly exploded against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He recorded five tackles in the opening game of the season, but more importantly racked up three sacks. Houston now has 6.5 sacks through his first three games and is on pace to have an All-Pro fantasy season.
Houston has also recorded at least five tackles in each contest on top of his staggering sack totals. He has become much better at defending the run and the 24-year-old has grown into a more complete outside linebacker. Most were worried that Houston would only rack up sacks in KC, but the outside linebacker has truly matured into a LB1 this season.
