The tight end position in fantasy football is dominated by a few players. Jimmy Graham, Rob Gronkowski, and Jason Witten are the players that every owner wants to have at the beginning of the season.
However, depending on where you drafted and what your league focuses on, it may have been very difficult for you to grab these players. If you were not quick enough to pick up top waiver wire picks like Jordan Cameron or Jared Cook, then you probably thought that all your hopes were lost at this position.
If you feel this way, then I have someone that may give your team some hope. The Baltimore Ravens have been having injury issues, and with the loss of Ray Rice with a hip flexor, the team has had to shift its offensive focus.
The team decided to start focusing some of their passing attack towards veteran tight end Dallas Clark.
On Sunday, Clark was targeted seven times for a total of 46 yards. Throughout this early season, Clark has shown some of the spark that made him so valuable when he was with the Indianapolis Colts and quarterback Peyton Manning. Clark may have lost a step or two, but he still has the toughness and the hands that he was known for in previous seasons.
If you are in need of a tight end due to the recent injury to Green Bay Packers’ Jermichael Finley, then I think you should do some serious thinking and pick up Clark. You know his resume is good. You know he can catch, and with the recent developments in the Ravens’ offense, Clark is someone that would have value on any fantasy team in need of a tight end.
