2013 Fantasy Football: TE Jimmy Graham Having MVP Season

Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

It was no secret that New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham was the best tight end available in 2013  fantasy football drafts. He has been an elite fantasy option in recent seasons, and the injury to TE Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots only made the void between Graham and the rest of the field larger.

However, Graham has somehow surpassed expectations this year. The tight end is currently third in the entire  NFL with 358 receiving yards. He has also caught four touchdowns through the first three games of the season and the tight end has scored in each game.

Even more impressive, Graham hauled in nine balls for 134 yards and two touchdowns this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. He has now amassed 19 catches (on 31 targets) for 313 yards in his last two games alone, which is tops in the entire league over that time. Graham has even outperformed Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson up to this point in the year, despite the fact that Megatron was selected well before Graham in every fantasy format this summer.

Graham continues to raise the bar for tight ends in fantasy, and he clearly isn’t done yet. He should easily finish the season with 12 touchdowns and a 1,300-yard season for the former basketball star is not that far fetched. If you are lucky enough to have JG on your team this fantasy season, get ready for some staggering stat lines the rest of the way.
