Most fantasy football owners will have a keen eye on a wide receiver in Thursday night’s matchup between the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills, but his name is not Robert Woods. Instead, Josh Gordon is the player that everyone can’t stop talking about as the Browns’ wide out has a great opportunity to break out against a Bills’ defense that has yielded its fair share of big plays.

On the other side, Woods is lining up for the Bills in what will be a make-or-break game for the rookie wide receiver. Believe it or not; Woods’ rookie status has not stopped him from getting a bigger role in Buffalo’s offense as his good chemistry with Bills quarterback E.J. Manuel is easy to see. Week 4 was a bit of a coming out party for Woods, who caught four passes for a career-high 80 yards in the Bills’ surprising victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

The 80 yards receiving were impressive, but Woods also caught a touchdown, which he hadn’t done since Week 1. Woods is understandably inconsistent as he is a first-year player, yet his Thursday contest versus the Browns will show fantasy football owners a lot in terms of his future. For instance, if Woods manages to carve up the Browns’ pass defense that ranks second in the NFL, then he will prove himself as a viable flex option from here on out.

Moreover, if Cleveland can keep Woods under the 20 yards receiving mark, then it’s obvious that Woods isn’t ready for a spot in starting lineups across the fantasy football spectrum. Therefore, stay tuned to see if Thursday’s game gives us a better look at what this Buffalo wide receiver is made of.
