Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Jordan Reed

Reed

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

Tight ends! Tight ends for sale! This season has seen some amazing stories at the tight end position. If you would have ranked the tight end position for fantasy football at the end of last season, the only tight end that would have been in the top three that has really done anything has been Jimmy Graham. Rob Gronkowski has been injured, Tony Gonzalez’s team has suffered many injuries, and Aaron Hernandez is in jail.

There have been players to come out of nowhere this season like Jordan Cameron and Joseph Fauria. If you missed out on these two players, here is the next tight end that will help your team out in fantasy football.

Jordan Reed is the new tight end on the rise. He plays for the Washington Redskins and has quickly been moving up the tight end fantasy football rankings. In his last four games, Reed has had either 50 yards or more in a game receiving or a touchdown. In Week 7 against the Chicago Bears, Reed had the game of his career with 134 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Reed looks to be a guy that Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will be looking to throw to as not only a check-down guy, but a go-to guy down the field.

For a team like the Redskins that is a run-focused team, having an emerging tight end is a great thing for that offense and especially RGIII. If you have a tight end coming up on his bye week soon, or if you just cannot find anyone to hold that position for you. I suggest putting in a waiver claim for Jordan Reed this week. You will not regret it.
