The entire fantasy hockey world knows how loaded the Dallas Stars are with aging veterans. The team has twelve players that are 29 years old or older, including four players over the age of 34 years old. Simply put, Dallas is one of the oldest squads in the league.
However, the team still has a couple young guns worth taking a shot on in fantasy. One of these youngsters sitting on the fantasy waiver wire is defenseman Brenden Dillon.
In 48 games last season, Dillon only amassed eight points. He scored three goals and added five assists, in what ended up being a very disappointing season. Dillon’s less than stellar numbers were partially a result of playing on the team’s bottom lines, though.
This season, however, the 22-year-old defender is anchoring the top blue line with D Stephane Robidas. In 12 games this season, Dillon has shockingly racked up six points already. He has scored three goals and added three helpers already. The defenseman has even scored a shorthanded goal.
Dillon has been much more aggressive on the ice this year. He is playing with more confidence since the promotion and is making more runs into the offensive zone. The defender will only get better as the season moves forward and he gets more comfortable with his teammates.
Dillon is worth adding off the waiver wire immediately in all formats. He is having a career season and continues to show up in the box score on a nightly basis.
