Week 10 Fantasy Football Dark Horse Sleeper: QB Ben Roethlisberger

QB Ben Roethlisberger, and the entire  Pittsburgh Steelers team, have really started the 2013 fantasy football season off slowly. The team lost their first four games and averaged a meager 17.25 points per contest.

However, Big Ben is finally starting to turn his season around. He just threw 400 yards with four touchdowns last week against the New England Patriotsand while he did throw two picks in the game, it was still his best fantasy performance of the season.

It was his first multi-touchdown game since September 22nd and it couldn’t of come at a better time. Pittsburgh fortunately faces off against a porous Buffalo Bills’ secondary this weekend that is currently ranked 18th in the league (246.9 yards/game). Even worse, the unit has surrendered 20 touchdown passes this season, which is currently the worst in the entire NFL. It is a dream matchup for Big Ben.

The offensive line is still having problems with protection, as Roethlisberger has been sacked 31 times already this year, but the team is finally starting to move the chains. Recently, the team has also started to get healthy. TE Heath Miller and RB Le’Veon Bell are back in action and the duo has taken immense pressure of Roethlisberger inside of the pocket. After all, nothing helps out quarterback more than a steady running game.

Roethlisberger, in the very least, is worth starting for at least one more week. He has another favorable matchup and seems primed to have his second consecutive big fantasy performance. If you own Big Ben, make sure to keep him in your lineup for one more week.
