Fantasy Football: Week 10 Flex Plays at Wide Receiver
Another week has passed and still, the bye weeks are hurting many fantasy football owners.
For those of you who have players like Josh Gordon, Danny Amendola or Dwayne Bowe on a bye this week, you are probably looking for a one-week solution to your wide receiver or flex play positions. After some careful consideration, I have three players who will be on the waiver wire that you can add for this week. These are players that I feel have a really good shot at producing decent numbers for you at your flex play or WR2 positions.
Doug Baldwin: For the first few weeks of the NFL and fantasy season, Baldwin of the Seattle Seahawks had been a very low-end hit-or-miss type player. More than likely, no one reading this article even thought of adding Baldwin to their team’s bench, let alone playing him on their fantasy team.
With the recent season-ending injury to Sidney Rice, Baldwin has moved up the depth chart for the Seahawks. In Baldwin’s last two starts, he has totaled 166 yards receiving and a touchdown. This week, the Seahawks are facing the banged-up Atlanta Falcons. I look for Baldwin to continue to get looks from quarterback Russell Wilson and to have a nice game against the lowly Falcons.
The Falcons will keep an eye on Wilson’s running ability as well as cover Golden Tate a little tighter, leaving Baldwin to gain around 80 yards or more and possibly a touchdown.
Mike Brown: When fantasy owners of Justin Blackmon heard the news that he was going to be suspended for the rest of the season, many of us were trying hard to figure out just what to do. Fear not, fellow owners and managers who need a good flex play start for Week 10, I give you Mike Brown.
Brown will now be the No. 2 receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars for the remainder of the season. He is playing on an offense that is always behind and will have to throw the ball to try to stay in games. In his Week 10 matchup against the Tennessee Titans, I can see Brown having around 90 receiving yards for the game. I also look for him to put up decent numbers for the rest of the season.
Lance Moore: It is always tough to trust one of the guys that Drew Brees passes to, unless, of course, you are Jimmy Graham. The New Orleans Saints will play the Dallas Cowboys this week on Sunday Night Football. I look for this game to have the potential to be a shootout.
If I am right, then Moore will be in line for a great game. He has had some big games catching passes from Brees in the past, and I look for it to be just another one of those weeks against the Cowboys. Look for Moore to catch a touchdown in this game and go over 60 yards receiving.
