Fantasy Football: Look for Investment In Maurice Jones-Drew to Finally Pay Off in Week 10

Patience is a virtue. If you drafted Maurice Jones-Drew in your fantasy football draft and you still own him, you have some of the best patience I have ever known.

The man they call MJD has been anything but the fantasy football stud that we have all come to know and depend on. Like many of you, I drafted Jones-Drew to be my no. 2 running back on my fantasy team. I thought that since he was playing for a new contract that he would be showing off some of his signature moves.

However, many of us did not realize just how bad the Jacksonville Jaguars are. I feel many times that the Cowboys from the movie the Little Giants could beat this team on a good day. Because of this, MJD’s fantasy value has been very low for most of the fantasy football season.

In Week 10, I feel there may be some hope for those of you who held on. This week, MJD and the Jaguars will take on the Tennessee Titans. This game is going to be a matchup of two running backs that used to be drafted in the top-five in everyone’s fantasy drafts: Chris Johnson and Maurice Jones-Drew.

This game could be very promising for the struggling Jones-Drew. First off, the Titans surrendered a huge rushing game to the St. Louis RamsZac Stacy: 127 yards on the ground with two touchdowns. Also, the suspension of Jaguars receiver Justin Blackmon means that the team will need to rely on the legs of their running back.

Last week, the Jaguars used Jones-Drew in the passing game and he came out of the game with six receptions for 47 yards. Look for more of the same from Jones-Drew this week. I am not saying that Week 10 will be the resurgence that you all are looking from the former stud running back. I am simply saying that if you have him this week and you held onto him for this long, then you might as well get something out of him this season!
