Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Chris Ogbonnaya
What can you say about the Cleveland Browns? When it comes to fantasy football, they are one of the most frustrating teams I know! Yes, Josh Gordon has been a very solid player this season and Jordan Cameron came out hot, but has since cooled off.
Coming out of their bye week, the Browns stated that they need to try something different in regards to their running game. At the beginning of the season, the Browns traded away former first round draft pick, Trent Richardson, to the Indianapolis Colts for some first round picks, which has actually turned out to be a pretty good trade for the Browns.
Since the Richardson’s trade, the Browns signed Willis McGahee to handle their backfield duties. He has not been the jump start the Browns were looking for in their running game. However, like I said, the Browns wanted to change things up in the running game after their bye week. The team decided that Chris Ogbonnaya would get his chance to show the team what he can do. Ogbonnaya was very impressive in his first chance to get more carries at the running back position. Ogbonnaya had 14 carries/catches for a total of 99 yards, but no touchdowns.
OgBonnaya showed breakaway speed and should definitely be considered by you this week in your league’s waiver wire. Ogbonnaya is on a team that looks like they want to throw the football. He is the Browns’ best option out of the backfield who I believe will be a nice addition to your team moving forward.
Ogbonnaya will not be Andre Brown, so don’t expect that from him. However, if you’re looking for a guy that is going to get the ball in a way that Giovani Bernard is getting the ball, then Ogbonnaya is a guy to get.
