2013 Fantasy Football: RB Alfred Morris Will Finish Season Strong

It seems that there has been more busts in the early couple rounds of fantasy football drafts this summer than any previous season. First round running backs like Arian Foster, C.J. Spiller, Trent Richardson, Steven Jackson, and Maurice Jones-Drew have all failed to live up to expectations this fantasy season.

However, for every sob story there is also a success story. Stars like Adrian Peterson, LeSean McCoy, and Jamaal Charles have been worthy first-rounders this year, despite the countless misses this summer. Another, somewhat forgotten, first-tier fantasy back has been Alfred Morris of the Washington Redskins.

Since the team’s Week 5 bye, Morris has been absolutely incredible for fantasy owners.  The back has averaged an impressive 13 fantasy points (standard ESPN) over the last six weeks and the second-year back is heating up at the right time for fantasy fans.

Morris has carried the ball over 20 times (24.3) in three straight contests and the Florida Atlantic standout is finally getting a steady dose of the rock. He remains one of the only full-time backs left in fantasy, and now that he is over his rib injury, he is finally putting up RB1 numbers.

Additionally, QB Robert Griffin III has thrown five touchdown passes over the last two games alone. RG3 looked rusty early in the season and the lack of a passing game forced Morris to see plenty of crowded boxes. The fact that the offense is starting to come around, though, will only help the running back get more room to work out of the backfield. Morris will see much softer boxes over the final weeks of the season and should start piling up the rushing yards.

Morris is primed to have a huge finish to the 2013 fantasy football season, so make sure to keep him active each and every week.
