Fantasy Football: Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 13 Quarterback Edition

Ryan

The Fantasy Football season is quickly coming to an end. Every decision that you make as a Fantasy manager for the rest of the season can either make or break your team. In Week 13 of the NFL and Fantasy season, there are many intriguing plays at the quarterback position. Some of these plays that I am going to recommend are of guys who were predicted to have big seasons for their owners at the start of the season, but things just did not seem to work out that way for them. I am also going to tell you about two quarterbacks that have done very well for owners after they were added from their waiver wire, but I feel will fall short this week.

Start: Matt Ryan

Many of you are going to say, “Really Dom? Start Matt Ryan this week? He has stunk for us all season! How can we trust him?” Yes, I say it is very safe to start Matt Ryan in most Fantasy Football leagues. The Atlanta Falcons are going to take on the Buffalo Bills in Week 13. The Bills have not exactly been the most solid defensively in the NFL this season. They have left up some big games from guys like Drew BreesAndy Dalton and Ryan Tannehill. The Falcons have shown this year that they just cannot run the football very well. I look for Matty Ice to throw for some nice yardage against them and finally pick a team apart for once. I think 250 yards and three touchdowns in this game for Ryan.

Start: Eli Manning

For the past few weeks, ever since Andre Brown returned, I have been on the Eli Manning bandwagon. Let’s face it; Eli has not had the season that everyone expected out of him. Manning has thrown more interceptions then he has touchdowns this season. Again, not something you really want out of your starting Fantasy Football quarterback. In the past few weeks, Manning has started to look a little better (at least he is not throwing the interceptions like he was doing). In Week 13, the New York Giants will be taking on the Washington Redskins. If you watched the game the Redskins had last Monday Night against the San Francisco 49ers, then you completely understand why Manning should be a very nice start this week. The Redskins gave up 235 yards of passing and three touchdowns to a struggling Colin Kaepernick. If the Redskins were exactly what the doctor order for Kaepernick, then he will be making a house call to Manning this week. Look for Eli to throw for about 250 yards as well as having a multiple touchdown game.

Sit: Nick Foles

The man that has thrown for seven touchdowns in a game this season should be sat in Week 13? Yes, he should be benched in all Fantasy leagues. In Week 13, the Philadelphia Eagles are taking on the very difficult Arizona Cardinals’ defense. This is a defense that has let up 11 points to Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts and 13 to Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons. These quarterbacks are much better than Foles and I see the same happening in Week 13 to Foles as it did for those quarterbacks. Foles will throw for about 230 yards, but I also see him throwing an interception or two and only one touchdown. Not the numbers you want in this very important week.

Sit: Case Keenum

As I have written before, the clock has struck 12 on Case Keenum’s Cinderella story. Case Keenum was everyone’s Fantasy darling for a few weeks of the season and then reality set in. Keenum was a third string quarterback for a reason at the beginning of the season. Yes, he was rolling for a bit but that ship has sailed. In Week 13, the struggling Houston Texans are taking on the red-hot New England Patriots. Keenum will be forced try and keep up with future Hall-of-Famer Tom Brady. This will not happen. Look for Keenum to throw for about 200 yards, but not much more on the positive side after that.
