Fantasy Football Week 13: Alshon Jeffery Primed For Big Game

Alshon Jeffery

Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

Despite having a terrific season so far, Alshon Jeffery is somehow still flying under the radar in many fantasy circles. The wideout has improved by leaps and bounds in just his second year in the league, and yet it’s still gone unrecognized by many. I’m not entirely sure why, although it could have something to do with the low TD count — he only has three on the season. Whatever the case, though, it’s time to acknowledge the man’s achievements.

Jeffery is now up to 58 receptions and 860 yards on the season, making him a top-15 receiver. What’s even more impressive is that he’s done it while playing second fiddle to Brandon Marshall in the passing game. Who knows what kind of numbers he’d be posting if Marshall wasn’t around? He’s incredibly talented and the sky’s the limit down the line. Let’s just focus on this week, however.

The Chicago Bears take on the Minnesota Vikings this week and even with Josh McCown under center, you have to like Jefferey’s chances of a big game. His worst game of the season was actually in Week 2 against Minnesota — he had one catch for 11 yards — but that was then and this is now. The Vikings have been picked apart all season long, and there’s no reason to expect anything different, so look for Jeffery to take advantage and atone for the near donut he put up against them in their early-season clash. He hasn’t scored since Week 9, but there’s a strong possibility of him splashing six in this one.

Make sure he’s in your lineup and enjoy the show.
