Robin spent years underachieving with the Phoenix Suns and the lesser-known Lopez played last season with the New Orleans Pelicans. This year, though, Lopez finds himself with the Portland Trail Blazers and he is putting up rather impressive fantasy numbers.
Lopez has been getting a steady dose of minutes this season and is currently averaging a career-high 30.1 minutes per game. He may be posting under 9 points a game, but the center has really come into his own in recent weeks. Lopez has averaged 10.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, and an impressive 1.6 blocks per contest in his last five contests and has started to produce like a low-end fantasy center.
Even better, the former first round pick is extremely clutch from the charity stripe. Most seven-footer’s seriously struggle to shoot about 65 % from the line, but Lopez is shooting a very respectable 77.8% this season from the line. He won’t hurt any fantasy owners with his shooting percentages, and that alone should make him a viable free agent.
The center is owned in just 47% of ESPN leagues and the big man can be a steady dose of rebounds and blocks each night. If you need a big man on your roster, don’t be afraid to scoop up Lopez.
