Week 15 Fantasy Football Dark Horse Sleeper: RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis
Cincinnati Bengals RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis was one of the most overlooked backs this summer in fantasy football drafts. He fell to the bottom of nearly every draft and Green-Ellis was even undrafted in some smaller fantasy formats.
The fantasy world was completely enamored with the potential of rookie running back, Giovani Bernard, while people were throwing the word “bust” out there alongside the veteran’s name. Recently, though, Green-Ellis has been a rather productive back and has been putting up RB2 numbers.
For instance, Bernard ripped off 148 all-purpose yards last weekend against the Indianapolis Colts and the first-year back had the better yardage total. However, Green-Ellis scored both of the team’s rushing touchdowns and his 16 fantasy points in standard formats ended up being more points than the rookie racked up in the game. The Law Firm has now scored three touchdowns over his last two contests. He is producing when it counts for fantasy fans and should no longer be relegated to bench duty.
Cincy faces the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday and the Steel City defense has been rather unpredictable as of late. The team has given up a staggering 13 total touchdowns to opposing backs this season. Every time Cincinnati and Pittsburgh face it is an extremely physical affair and this Sunday will be no different, so Green-Ellis should be a hefty dose of the rock in a cold, division game.
Green-Ellis will be guaranteed between 16-20 carries this week and the back will get every carry inside the five-yard line. If you need a sleeper back to take a chance on as a flex starter in Week 14, put your money in the Law Firm.
