Week 15 Fantasy Football Dark Horse Sleeper: WR Jordy Nelson

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson has been a fantasy football superstar over the last couple seasons. He hauled in 22 touchdowns between 2011-12 and earned the trust of millions of fantasy owners as a weekly must-start.

Unfortunately, Nelson has not caught a single touchdown pass since QB Aaron Rodgers went down with a broken collarbone in Week 9. The fact that he has gone five straight games without a touchdown is especially devastating considering that Nelson hauled in six touchdowns through the first seven games of the year.

In the six games that Rodgers has been sidelined, Nelson had just one 100-yard performance (117 yards), which was in Week 11 against the New York Giants. In the the other five games, though, the wideout averaged a meager 56 receiving yards, which is exactly starter quality numbers.

Nelson will luckily get to face off against a Dallas Cowboys secondary this weekend that has been gashed by opposing wideouts all season long. They are currently dead last against the pass (294.6 yards/game) and this is the perfect game for Nelson to have a bounce back performance, even if A-Rod is unable to return.

Nelson should be started in every format this Sunday, despite his month long slump, and the wideout should finally come through for fantasy owners. If you are about to give up on Jordy, give him one more week to show what he can do.
