The fantasy basketball season is quickly approaching the midway point. Some players are red-hot, while others have yet to get into a groove. So before moving onto the next scoring period, let’s take a look at the action from last week.
C Nikola Pekovic, Orlando Magic – In four games this week, Pekovic racked up 99 points and 43 rebounds. He also shot 53.8% (43-80) from the field, while turning the ball over just seven times. He had one of the best stat lines of any big man this week.
PG Kyrie Irving, Cleveland Cavaliers – Cleveland only played in three games this past week, but Irving certainly made the most of it. He scored 78 points this past week, including a 39-point effort on Friday night against the Milwaukee Bucks. He also added 11 assists, six three-pointers, and four blocks this week.
PF Thaddeus Young, Philadelphia 76ers – Young has been on fire this week for fantasy owners. He added 69 points, 20 rebounds, and seven three-pointers. Young led Philly’s offense this past week and the forward is in the middle of a career season.
PG Jeremy Lin, Houston Rockets – Lin has missed 10 of the last 12 games due to back spasms. However, the point guard has stated that he is ready to play on Monday, so make sure to watch his performance carefully.
SG Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers – Bryant will miss 6-8 weeks after a fracture was found in his right knee. The injury devastated fantasy owners, as the Black Mamba just returned to action from a torn Achilles. Fantasy owners with Bryant will once again have to scour the waiver wire for viable two-guards.
PG Tony Parker, San Antonio Spurs – Parker missed most of this past week with a shin injury, but he returned to the court on Saturday night. He is still dealing with some pain, but it shouldn’t force him to miss more time moving forward.
SG Jimmy Butler, Chicago Bulls – Butler just returned to action and the guard has unfortunately once again found himself on the injury report. He injured his ankle on Thursday night and was seen after the contest on crutches. Butler is slowly getting back into practice, but he will still likely miss a couple more games.
