2013 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Gerald Green

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Fantasy basketball owners are always looking for reliable three-point shooters to grab off the waiver wire. Every season there are a handful of unknown sharpshooters seem to come out of nowhere and this year has been no different.

Probably the most attractive three-point specialist to grab off the wire right now is SG Gerald Green of the Phoenix Suns.

The 27-year-old is still coming off the pine each game behind Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe, but Green has still been able to fill the box score despite playing just 26.6 minutes per game. Over the last four games, Green has dropped an astonishing 17 triples. Green has also added 17.5 points per game from the bench over that stretch, while shooting 50 percent (22-44) from the field.

The former first round pick has finally started to knock down shots and Green is earning more minutes with each passing game. He is one of the hottest outside shooters on the wire and his ability to rack up triples has caused him to become a decent roto-league option in any format.

Green is owned in just 29.9 percent of ESPN fantasy leagues at the moment and can be a great sharpshooter to add off the waiver wire. He isn’t going to give you 20 points a game with the limited playing time, but he will do enough to warrant a roster spot.
