Week 17 Fantasy Football IDP Sleepers: Linebackers

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

Each week of the fantasy football season, there are plenty of sleeper articles out there for offensive players. However, there are never enough IDP sleepers. So to help set your final lineup in IDP leagues, here are some fantasy IDP sleepers at the linebacker position for Week 17.

LB A.J. Hawk, Green Bay Packers – The news that LB Clay Matthews was shutdown for the year immediately increased the fantasy value of Hawk. The former Ohio State standout will now be the primary pass rusher for the Pack and should be in Jay Cutler’s face all afternoon. Look for Hawk to put up LB2 numbers this week.

LB Ryan Kerrigan, Washington Redskins – Kerrigan has slowly been coming around for fantasy owners. After six consecutive games without a sack, Kerrigan has now registered a sack in each of the past two contests. He has also helped out against the run, as he has racked up 17 tackles over the last three games alone. Washington faces a improved  New York Giants squad, but the team has still had problems keeping QB Eli Manning upright. Kerrigan should have no problem filling the box score against the G-Men.

LB Thomas Davis, Carolina Panthers – Davis had 14 tackles and one interception last week and the performance finally made the fantasy world pay attention to the converted safety. He is having a career year and the linebacker has quietly become a weekly starter. Davis will play an Atlanta Falcons team that has started to the run the ball much more with RB Steven Jackson and the linebacker will be very busy this Sunday. An eight-tackle performance seems pretty safe from TD in Week 17.
