One of the biggest breakout performances this fantasy basketball season has been from C Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans. Davis averaged a respectable 13.5 points last season with 8.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. Davis had an all-around decent fantasy season, but he didn’t quite become the fantasy superstar that most expected him to be in his rookie year.
The former first overall pick has matured by leaps and bounds in his second season, though. He has averaged 19.1 points this season to go along with a staggering 10.4 rebounds in the seven games since he returned to action. AD is also adding 3.1 blocks per game, which is currently first in the entire NBA. He is truly having an outstanding fantasy season.
The former Kentucky standout missed seven games due to a broken hand earlier in the month, but he has quickly regained his superstar form. Davis walked right back into the starting lineup and posted an astonishing 24 points with 12 boards in his return against the Los Angeles Clippers. He has now averaged 20.1 points with 10.4 rebounds and 2.3 rebounds per game since returning.
Davis has 20-10-5 potential anytime he steps onto the court and he has quickly emerged as an elite fantasy center. The youngster is having the first of many All-Star fantasy seasons and he has a very bright fantasy career ahead of him.
