2014 Fantasy Football: Michael Crabtree’s Fantasy Value On Rise

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

Before the 2013 fantasy football season even kicked off, the San Francisco 49ers suffered a devastating injury. Star WR Michael Crabtree tore his Achilles tendon in training camp this past spring, and as a result, he went undrafted in almost every fantasy format. He quickly disappeared to the bottom of the free agent pool with all the other injured stars across the league.

The wideout worked hard to get back on the field, though, and he ended up becoming a decent late-season addition. He finally made his 2013 debut in Week 13 and the wideout wasted no time getting back into the stat column. Crabtree hauled in a 60-yard bomb in his first game of the year and he quickly showed owners what they were missing all fantasy season.

In San Fran’s Wildcard win last weekend against the Green Bay Packers, Crabtree had an amazing fantasy performance. He hauled in eight of his 13 targets for an impressive 125 receiving yards. It was his second 100-yard performance in the past three weeks and Crabtree has quickly become the team’s number one wideout again.

Crabtree will return to form next season and he will be a top-tier fantasy wideout. He will likely be drafted within the top-15 receivers, so fantasy fans should make sure to keep him towards the top of draft boards for the 2014 season.
