The point guard position has had numerous players go down throughout the 2013-14 fantasy basketball season and it has devastated the hopes of many fantasy owners. The most recent star to put on this list was Charlotte Bobcats PG Kemba Walker, who went down with an ankle injury last Saturday and is now expected to miss another two to three weeks.
As a result of the Walker injury, PG Ramon Sessions has been thrust into the starting lineup and has quietly become a decent fantasy option. Sessions has started 111 games throughout his seven-year career and the journeyman has filled in well for veteran one-guards in the past.
In his first start filling in for Walker, Sessions put up 23 points (6-10 FG), two rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 34 minutes of action. Sessions dropped eight dimes in his second start and he has now recorded double-digit points in three of his starts.
Sessions won’t drop 20 points on a nightly basis, but he will easily be able to put up PG3 numbers in Walker’s absence and deserves to be added in the majority of fantasy formats. He is only owned in 18.7 % of the leagues at the moment and will be one of the best point guards to add off the waiver wire in the next couple weeks.
