Fantasy Football 2014 Breakout Player: No. 1 Justin Blackmon

When deciding who will be the best breakout player in 2014 for fantasy football, there was a lot one had to consider. You have to consider the situation that that player would be in for the upcoming season. You also have to examine the type of player that that player is, as well as the potential he has going into the season. Finally, you have to examine what that player has done the season before. With all of that being said, the No. 1 breakout player for the 2014 fantasy football season has to be Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon.

The Jaguars and Blackmon both had a very tough season. The Jaguars were again one of the worst teams in the NFL; the team just could not get it together offensively at all during the season.

Blackmon had all of the chances in the world to have an amazing 2013 fantasy football season. He started the season suspended due to the NFL’s substance abuse policy. When he returned, he did so with a ‘Roar!” In the four games that he played, Blackmon had 415 yards and a touchdown. While Blackmon was in the lineup, he was putting up Calvin Johnson and A.J. Green type numbers. He also flourished playing for a Jaguars team that was behind in most games.

After four games, Blackmon was suspended again by the NFL, this time for the rest of the season. This is a problem for Blackmon and anyone who wants to take him in fantasy football in 2014. However, I feel that he will overcome this and be determined to be the best player and person he can be going into the season.

Blackmon will be set to have a great 2014 season. The Jaguars will have to draft a quarterback in this season’s draft, which means a better chance for him to get the football and score big points for your fantasy team. Blackmon should be a guy that you can get after the first six rounds, because many people will not want to touch him after last season. I say forget about that; go with Blackmon and possibly land two No. 1 receivers for your fantasy team this season!
