2014 Fantasy Football: Super Bowl XLVIII IDP Predictions
The Super Bowl is finally here, and with that comes the last chance for us fantasy football junkies to get our fix. So those of you still holding onto hope in the Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge, here are my bold fantasy football IDP predictions for Super Bowl XLVIII between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks.
1. CB Richard Sherman Will Not Intercept Pass
With all the discussion, or rants, about how Sherman is the best corner in football in recent weeks, some are forgetting the Manning is the best quarterback in football. Manning likely won’t throw Sherman’s way too often in the game and fantasy fans shouldn’t expect the corner to show up much in the box score.
2. DT Terrence Knighton Will Have A Sack
Knighton has recorded seven tackles and one sack over his last two games. The defensive tackle has really started to heat up and will have a good matchup against Wilson, who has been sacked seven times in two postseason games. Pot Roast will be looking to eat this Super Sunday and should get to Wilson at least once.
3. LB Danny Trevathan Will Record 8 Hits
Trevathan led the team with 128 tackles this season, but he has posted rather timid numbers in the playoffs so far. He is averaging just six hits per game and has not recorded a single tackle for loss over that stretch. He should get plenty of chances to make plays against Seattle’s run-heavy offense, though, so look for the linebacker to record at least eight hits this Sunday.
4. LB Bobby Wagner Will Make A Big Play
Wagner obviously has a knack for making tackles, as he led the team with 125 tackles, but he also racked up five sacks and two interceptions this year. He will be very active this Sunday and will make at least one big play (sack/interception/ force fumble) for fantasy fans.
