2014 Fantasy Football: Super Bowl XLVIII Predictions

The Super Bowl is finally here, and with that comes the last chance for us fantasy football junkies to get our fix. So those of you still holding onto hope in the Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge, here are my bold fantasy football IDP predictions for Super Bowl XLVIII featuring the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks.

1. QB Peyton Manning Will Throw For 250 Yards & 2 TDs

Manning posted unthinkable fantasy numbers this year, as he finished with a record-breaking 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns. He has continued to put up big totals in the playoffs and enters the big game coming off a 400-yard performance against the New England Patriots.  Manning will struggle at times against the Legion of Boom, but the five-time MVP should still throw at least 250 yards with two scores.

2. RB Marshawn Lynch Will Run For 100 Yards & 1 TD

Lynch has gone over 100 yards in the team’s two playoffs games and has scored three rushing touchdowns. He will wear down Denver’s defense from the very first carry of the game and will be impossible to tackle once the fourth quarter rolls around. This will be Lynch’s chance to finally shine in the big game, so expect him to have another monstrous postseason performance.

3. WR Wes Welker Will Haul In 100 Yards & 1 TD

Welker has recovered from his concussion issues and the veteran wideout will be primed for a big performance this Super Sunday. CB Richard Sherman will obviously be blanketing WR Demaryius Thomas for most of the game, which leave force Manning to go to Welker quite often. As a result, I fully expect Welker to finish with over 100 yards and at least one touchdown.

4. QB Russell Wilson Will Throw Under 250 Yards

Wilson has averaged a meager 167.2 over his last six games (including playoffs) and has scored just five total touchdowns. He has become the ultimate game-manager, but it has hurt his weekly overall fantasy production. Super Sunday should be no different and fantasy fans shouldn’t expect more than 250 yards from DangeRuss.
