Fantasy Basketball: PG George Hill Is Still Underrated

Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

The Indiana Pacers have flown up the NBA Power Rankings in recent weeks and the they are currently leading the entire Eastern Conference with an impressive 36-10 record. Indiana players like small forward Paul George and center Roy Hibbert have anchored fantasy basketball squads this season, but PG George Hill continues to go unnoticed.

Hill has averaged double-digit points in each of the past seven games. He has averaged 13 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 steals during the hot-streak and the one-gaurd has really started to turn up his game. Hill isn’t a superstar by any means, but he consistently shows up in the box score game after game and never gets blanked out of the stat sheet.

The veteran receives a ton of minutes on a nightly basis and is currently receiving a healthy 36.3 minutes per game. He doesn’t have to worry about anyone threatening him for playing time and the fact that he has missed just three games all year has only helped him become more valuable in daily formats.

Hill fell well outside of the top-20 point guards this fall, but with the staggering number of injuries at the position, he has quietly become a top-15 option. He won’t put up many double-doubles for fantasy owners, but he will do enough to be a decent second option for the rest of the year.
