Fantasy Basketball: Tyson Chandler Dominating Glass In Return

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

After missing a handful of games last month due to bronchitis, fantasy basketball owners are thrilled to have New York Knicks C Tyson Chandler back on the court. The center has jumped right back into his starting spot and has been dominating the glass in his return.

Chandler has averaged a gaudy 10.2 points and 11.2 rebounds over the last five games alone. He has now collected double-digit rebounds in seven of his last nine games and the veteran has averaged an impressive 11.1 rebounds per game over that span. Chandler has been contributing like a top-tier fantasy big man ever since he returned to action.

The 12-year veteran hasn’t looked completely healthy, though. He has been somewhat slow getting off his feet and simply hasn’t played with the same athleticism that made him famous. Regardless, fantasy fans can at least solace in the fact that the big man is back in the lineup and adding boards. He may not be playing at 100% right now, but at least he is playing.

Chandler will continue to be a strong fantasy big man to lean on down the stretch. He should be good for close to 10 boards each game to go along with a couple blocked shots. However, fantasy fans should take note that he is playing at less than 100%, because he could be destined for another trip to the shelf down the road.
