Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports

The fantasy hockey season may be on a month-long hiatus, but there were still some hot performances last week to talk about. So before we start moving into Olympic hockey mode, let’s go over some of the hot players heading into the break.

LW Jaden Schwartz, St. Louis Blues – Schwartz scored two goals last week, while adding three helpers. He also ripped nine shots on goal, while playing over 18 minutes in all three contests. The 21-year-old now has accumulated 42 points on the year and the kid is truly having a breakout campaign.

RW Drew Stafford, Buffalo Sabres – Stafford has scored in each of the past three games and is really stating to heat up. He has six goals and three assists over his last seven games alone. He is finally playing like a starting fantasy winger.

C Claude Giroux, Philadelphia Flyers – Giroux racked four points in his three games last week, including three goals and one assist.  He also had 10 shots on goals, one power-pay assist, and a +3 player rating. Giroux started off slow, as he recorded just six points in the month of October, but he has since bounced back nicely.

C Anze Kopitar, Los Angeles Kings – The Kings only played two games last scoring period, but Kopitar made the most of his ice time. The center racked up four points (1G/3A) and posted his first multi-point contest since December 28th.
