In most fantasy baseball formats, speed and stolen bases are something reserved for rotisserie league. However, the speed of Cincinnati Reds OF Billy Hamilton is something that every fantasy fan can appreciate.

Hamilton has been one of the most popular prospects for a couple years now. He stole a staggering 155 bases back in 2012 and he quickly caught the attention of the fantasy world. He truly has Rickey Henderson-like speed on the bases and the youngster may be one of the fastest men on the entire planet.

Hamilton has been a major factor this spring. He has a robust batting average, as he has hit .327 (18-55) through 18 games spring games. Hamilton has consistently been able to manufacture runs and he has scored 14 times already. He has also stolen nine bases without being caught once and the speedster has truly displayed his game-changing speed.

The converted shortstop has done so well this month that it has been rumored that he will be the starting center fielder for the Reds on Opening Day. The starting gig has caused Hamilton’s fantasy value to skyrocket this month and the speedster will become an immediate fantasy asset if it comes to pass.

Hamilton is worth owning in every fantasy format. He will be one of the ultimate keepers for the next five-plus years and has hundreds of stolen bases ahead of him. If he is sitting on the wire before the season officially begins, add him now before someone else does.
