Fantasy Baseball 2014: Streaming Options for April 1
Opening day has arrived and the fantasy baseball season is officially underway! If you assembled your team with the plan of making up for some deficits in your roster by streaming players, I'm here to help. Here are my top five streaming options for April 1.
Erasmo Ramirez @ LAA

Given the depth of the Angels' lineup, Ramirez is definitely a risky streamer. He had a fantastic spring though, and I do believe the talent is there for him to be a solid major league starting pitcher. In three career starts against the Angels, he has a 2.41 ERA and 1.23 WHIP. Last season, he allowed just two runs over 12.2 innings to them.
Brett Anderson @ MIA

The oft-injured pitcher gets to make his 2014 debut in the spacious confines of Marlins Park against a Marlins team that boasted one of the worst offenses in recent history in 2013. Anderson's not worth a long-term roster spot due to injury concerns and the fact that half his starts will come in Coors, but if I need a streamer, I can get on board for one start against the Marlins.
Martin Perez vs. PHI

When you're looking for streaming options, the opponent can be just as important as the talent level of the player you're looking to add. Perez against the Phillies is a perfect example of that. In 2014, I'll be looking to jump on board any opportunity to start a left-handed pitcher against this Phillies lineup, and that's exactly what Perez is.
Kyle Lohse vs. ATL

His highest ERA for any season in the last three years has been 3.39 and his highest WHIP has been 1.17, still Kyle Lohse gets no love. Sure, he may not get many strikeouts, but what’s better -- picking up a starter to stream who's likely to get very good ratios while chipping in a few strikeouts and giving you a chance at a win, or just leaving the spot blank for the day, getting nothing?
Mitch Moreland vs. PHI
Mitch Moreland vs. PHI

Moreland was one of the most overlooked players heading into 2014 and if you're looking to stream a batter, he might just be your guy. He will face a decently tough pitcher in A.J. Burnett, but he's got two things going for him: he's playing at home and Burnett is a right-handed pitcher (Moreland's career OPS against right-handed pitching is 131 points higher than it is against left-handed pitching).
