The 2014 MLB season is finally underway and fantasy baseball players are looking to see who has been starring through one week of play. While it's extremely tough to judge the best starting pitchers after just one week into the season, I have done my best to rank the top 15 starters after week one.

Let's take a look at these 15 starters and I would suggest picking up one, or multiple, guys on this list if they're available.

15. Matt Garza, Milwaukee Brewers

Matt Garza was a solid pick-up for the Brewers in the offseason as their rotation needed some veteran experience. Garza had a no-hitter through six innings during his first start of the season.

Week 1: 0-1, 1.13 ERA, 7 SO, 0.38 WHIP

14. Clayton Kershaw, Los Angeles Dodgers

Clayton Kershaw is on the shelf for the next two to three weeks, but his first start of the season, albeit it was in the opening series on March 22, was a gem.

Week 1: 1-0, 1.35 ERA, 7 SO, 0.90 WHIP

13. Scott Feldman, Houston Astros

Not many people expected much out of any Astros' players this season, but Scott Feldman has been exceeding everyone's expectations. If he's available in your league, you may want to keep an eye on him.

Week 1: 2-0, 0.66 ERA, 4 SO, 0.66 WHIP

12. Yovani Gallardo, Milwaukee Brewers

Yovani Gallardo is the second Brewers starter named on this list. That could only mean one thing: it could be a turnaround year in Milwaukee.

Week 1: 2-0, 0.00 ERA, 7 SO, 1.03 WHIP

11. Tim Hudson, San Francisco Giants

Tim Hudson is putting on a new uniform in 2014, but he's having the same type of results that he's had his entire career. The ageless wonder is pitching great for his new team.

Week 1: 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 7 SO, 0.39 WHIP

10. Mark Buehrle, Toronto Blue Jays

Mark Buehrle was brought into Toronto to resurrect the franchise, but the Blue Jays haven't seen success in a few years -- the same goes for Buehrle. That was, until this year for the pitcher.

Week 1: 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 11 SO, 0.58 WHIP

9. Chris Tillman, Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles only have two wins all season long, with a long gap in between the two, but the 25-year-old starter has one of them.

Week 1: 1-0, 1.35 ERA, 9 SO, 1.05 WHIP

8. Sonny Gray, Oakland Athletics

Sonny Gray is one of the best young pitchers in the league and he is owned in all ESPN leagues -- for good reason.

7. Jeff Samardzija, Chicago Cubs

Jeff Samardzija is in an important year as he could earn a big payday with a solid performance in 2014. He's off to a heck of a start already.

Week 1: 0-1, 1.29 ERA, 11 SO, 1.14 WHIP

6. Chris Sale, Chicago White Sox

Chris Sale doesn't look like he'd blow you away with any of his pitches, but the slender-framed starter has been as solid as any pitcher in MLB for the past few years. A Cy Young is definitely in his future.

Week 1: 2-0, 1.76 ERA, 14 SO, 0.72 WHIP

5. Max Scherzer, Detroit Tigers

Max Scherzer is the reigning AL Cy Young winner and he's off to yet another red-hot start to the 2014 season. Sure, it has only been one start, but he's off on the right foot when it comes to proving his worth to the Tigers in a contract year.

Week 1: 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 7 SO, 0.63 WHIP

4. Adam Wainwright, St. Louis Cardinals

As one of the NL Cy Young candidates this season, Adam Wainwright is looking to bring his Cardinals back to the World Series. Heck, adding some personal hardware to team hardware would make for quite the successful season.

Week 1: 1-1, 1.29 ERA, 16 SO, 1.00 WHIP

3. Jose Fernandez, Miami Marlins

Jose Fernandez might contend for the NL Cy Young as well this season. The second-year player is scary-good and he's proving why he will be successful in this league for a long, long time.

Week 1: 2-0, 0.71 ERA, 17 SO, 0.79 WHIP

2. Johnny Cueto, Cincinnati Reds

Johnny Cueto has been dominating opponents this season and he's been a fantasy gem for anyone who has had the pleasure of owning him -- including myself.

Felix Hernandez is playing like he misses the Cy Young award. Winning another one in 2014 will feed his competitive taste.
