Not everyone can be sitting at the top of their fantasy baseball league. It is the sad truth and the owners at the bottom of the league often give up much too early. To help keep the faith, here are five reasons to not give up six weeks through the 2014 fantasy baseball season.

As any Charlie Blackmon owner can tell you, the waiver wire can be a godsend. There are still 15-plus weeks left in the fantasy season, which leaves plenty of opportunity for you to find starting options. So if you are currently at the bottom of your league, shake it off and start hitting the waiver wire hard each week.

Like every summer, there will be a number of mid-season call ups towards the middle of the season. Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig quickly became a fantasy star after the turn last season and there will be a handful of prospects that will do the same this season. If you are already thinking about throwing in the towel, it doesn’t hurt to stash away some future stars.

Opening Day wasn’t too long ago, so there is plenty of baseball left to be played. If you are starting to panic because you are in 14th place in your dynasty league, there is still time to turn it all around.

The most frustrating aspect of the opening months of the fantasy baseball season is the weather. There are countless rain delays and many players have a tough time getting comfortable. Luckily, the warm weather is right around the corner. So if you have a handful of underachieving sticks/arms on your roster, be thankful that the cold weather is almost in the rearview for good.

This past week Clayton Kershaw finally came off the disabled list and it simply showed that all good things are worth waiting for. There are dozens of quality fantasy options still on the DL and it is only a matter of time until the league starts to get healthy. So if you are clinging to life and waiting for your All-Stars to come off the shelf, just remain patient a little longer and keep an eye on the injury reports.
