The fantasy NASCAR season is picking up speed quickly, but not all of the veteran drivers are living up to their hype each week. To help you in Kansas this weekend, here are five of the best sleepers for the 2014 5-Hour Energy 400.

5. Ryan Newman

Newman may not be the flashiest name on the circuit, but the veteran has put together a respectable run this spring. He has nine straight top-20 finishes and his worst showing was a 22nd place finish at the Daytona 500. Newman has been as reliable as they come this year and he will be a serious sleeper to look for in all formats this weekend.

4. Kurt Busch

During last October’s race in Kansas, Busch shocked the world with a second place finish. He has racked the top-17 in seven of the last eight trips here and the #78 car will be worth gambling on this weekend.

3. Kasey Kahne

Kahne hasn’t been very productive lately from a fantasy standpoint, as last week’s eighth place finish was his only top-10 finish in the last six races. However, the K-Man has always done well at 400 Speedway Boulevard. He has six straight top-15 finishes at Kansas, including two second-place finishes. He will be the ideal second driver to grab this week.

2. Clint Bowyer

Bowyer has three straight top-14 finishes at Kansas, including a fifth place finish last spring. He finished ninth here back in his 2006 debut and he always turns it up a notch in Kansas. Bowyer will be worth a top-10 pick this week.

1. Carl Edwards
