As the fantasy baseball season moves on, it becomes more and more important to start the right players. To help you decide which players to activate in Week 8, here are five must-starts this week.

Springer has quietly put up strong numbers since being called up. Over the last nine games, Springer has slugged three home runs and racked up seven RBIs. The five-tool star is finally living up to the hype and should be started in all formats in Week 8.

Week 8 Games: 7

4. 3B Chase Headley, San Diego Padres

Headley hasn’t even been back from the DL for a week, but he has certainly made the most of it. He has blasted two homers in the seven games since coming back from the shelf to go along with six RBIs. The Padres will play seven games this week, so fantasy fans can expect Headley to fill the box score this scoring period with the extra at-bats.

Week 8 Games: 7

3. SS Asdrubal Cabrera, Cleveland Indians

After an abysmal start to the 2014 season, Cabrera is starting to find his swing. In the last 10 games, the veteran has racked up two homers, five doubles, and five RBIs. He has finally woken up and can finally be a serviceable option in leagues with 10-plus owners.

Week 8 Starts: 7

2. SP Ian Kennedy, San Diego Padres

Kennedy has been rather erratic this season. In his nine starts this season, the veteran has allowed one earned run or less in four outings. However, he has also allowed three earned runs or more in five starts. Luckily, the right-hander has two very favorable matchups this week and should have a strong shot to win both contests.

Week 8 Starts: (5/20 vs. MIN) (5/25 vs. CHC)

1. SP Corey Kluber, Cleveland Indians

Despite a brief slump, Kluber has found his groove. He has shockingly struck out 47 batters in the last 35.1 innings of work and has posted an impressive 3-1 record over that span. Kluber does have two tough matchups in Week 8, but he should be able to do enough to be a top-25 starter this scoring period. Start him with confidence this week.
