When you're looking to stream starting pitchers in fantasy baseball you need to take two things into account: the talent of the pitcher you'd be streaming and the ability of their opposition to score runs. In the following slideshow, I will highlight the five worst offenses in baseball, so you can continue to stream starting pitchers with favorable matchups.
The Reds have the fourth worst wOBA in baseball at .297 and they're 28th in MLB with 213 runs scored. The Reds have been especially bad against lefties this season, as their .219 batting average is the third worst against southpaws. Even worse, both their .275 wOBA and 0.24 BB/K ratio are the worst in the bigs against left-handers.
The Mariners are tied with the Reds for the fourth worst wOBA in baseball at .297 and their 0.31 BB/K ratio is tied with the Padres for the worst in baseball. The Mariners have been especially bad at home this season, as their wOBA drops all the way down to .279 and they strike out on 25 percent of their plate appearances at Safeco field.
The Mets are 28th in baseball in all three of these categories, as they have a .296 wOBA, .235 batting average and .116 ISO.
The Royals are the worst power-hitting team in baseball. They're last in MLB with a .104 ISO and their 28 home runs are also the fewest in the bigs. They also show no patience at the plate, they're .294 wOBA is the second lowest in baseball and their 6.6 percent walk percentage is the third lowest.
The Padres are last in baseball with a .218 batting average and they also own a league-worst .277 wOBA. Their .129 ISO is the seventh worst in baseball and their 22.7 percent strikeout percentage is the fifth highest.
