For any fantasy baseball team, starting the right players is unsurprisingly the key to success. This is especially true in the immensely popular daily leagues, where a single player can mean the difference between a big payday and crushing disappointment. Based on matchups and talent, the following five players could all be in store for an outstanding day on July 9 and deserve your utmost consideration.

5. C Miguel Montero, Arizona Diamondbacks

Fantasy baseball's fourth-best catcher to this point continues to play well, and is on pace to set career-bests in HR, RBI and hits. He'll face the Miami Marlins and right-handed starter Nathan Eovaldi this afternoon, and that bodes well for more success. Eovaldi is allowing lefties to bat .308 against him on the season, and Montero is hitting .299 vs. RHP thus far.

4. 2B Jason Kipnis, Cleveland Indians

This All-Star's bat is finally coming around after a season-long struggle at the plate. He's put up multi-hit performances in seven of his last 13 games, and should keep that momentum going today against the New York Yankees. Brandon McCarthy will make his first start for New York, and to go along with an ugly 5.01 ERA on the season, LHB have knocked him around to the tune of a .323 average.

3. OF Michael Brantley, Cleveland Indians

The Indians LF is having by far his best season in the bigs, and at this point is surprisingly the seventh overall fantasy player in 2014. His bat has been nearly unstoppable in July as he's batting a remarkable .467 for the month, and has chipped in two HRs and seven RBIs as well. Brantley will take on McCarthy this evening, and could be in for another big game considering the right-hander's struggles vs. lefties.

2. SP Yu Darvish, Texas Rangers

Darvish has been an absolute beast at home this season as he owns an outstanding 1.83 ERA, and opponents are batting a microscopic .190 against him. Texas will host the Houston Astros tonight, and Darvish could be in for a gigantic statistical game. Houston ranks 23rd in runs per game this season, and has struck out the second-most times per contest as a team. Oh yeah, Darvish also leads the league with an incredible 11.03 K/9.

The only thing this SS likes better than hitting at home is facing a left-hander at home. That scenario will play out this afternoon as the Rockies take on the San Diego Padres. To go along with a preposterous .432 average at Coors Field, Tulowitzki has blasted lefties to the tune of a .389 average. Padres starter Eric Stults is allowing opponents to bat .299 on the season and has already served up a whopping 16 HRs.
