We have seen several top-tier prospects get called up this fantasy baseball season. Big names like Gregory Polanco, Jonathan Singleton, and recently Arismendy Alcantara have all made an impact in the fantasy world.

Of all the prospects currently holding down roster spots in dynasty leagues, though,  Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco is one of the biggest names still swinging away in the minors. Franco burst on the scene last year. He posted a .320 batting average to go along with 31 home runs and 103 RBIs.

Unfortunately, Franco has struggled this winter to make contact and has been hitting under .240 for the majority of the 2014 season. After months of going through the motions, though, Franco is finally turning things around.

The prospect has hit .348 (16-46) over his last 10 contests with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Even better, the slugger has smacked nine extra base hits (6 doubles, 2 triples, 1 HR) over that time with an impressive .630 Slugging Percentage. Franco is finally displaying the power that had him flying up prospect lists last year.

Philadelphia has been publicly shopping OF Marlon Byrd this month, which would expedite Franco’s rise to the majors. The team currently has Cody Asche still occupying third base, but he has also had experience in the outfield throughout his career. Philly could easily move Asche into the outfield to allow Franco to finally get promoted.

Franco has all the potential in the world and the slugger will be in the bigs very soon. If you have a spot in your dynasty league, add this prospect as soon as possible.
