For any fantasy baseball team, starting the right players is unsurprisingly the key to success. This is especially true in the immensely-popular daily leagues, where a single player can mean the difference between a big payday and crushing disappointment. Based on matchups and talent, the following five players could all be in store for an outstanding day on July 19 and deserve your utmost consideration.

It's been an underwhelming season for this veteran, but he's really picking up the pace as of late. Jed Lowrie has six multi-hit performances over his last 10 games, and is batting a robust .395 over that span. He'll face left-hander Wei-Yin Chen and the Baltimore Orioles this evening. On top of an elevated 4.58 road ERA, Chen is allowing opponents to bat .287 against him this season, and has already served up 17 HRs.

This left-hander is heating back up after slumping through June, as he's hitting .367 over his past seven games with two HRs and six RBIs. Chase Utley is batting a solid .304 against right-handers this season, and will face one of his favorites today. Aaron Harang and the Atlanta Braves will be the opponent, and in 30 career at bats, Utley is batting a robust .433 against him with five extra-base hits.

J.D. Martinez has gone from the scrapheap to a stud this season, as he's managed to resurrect his career with the Tigers. His bat has been nearly unstoppable as of late, as he's batting a gaudy .431 in July with four HRs and 11 RBIs. He'll face Zach McAllister in the second game of today's doubleheader with the Cleveland Indians, and if McAllister's 6.46 road ERA isn't mouthwatering enough, Martinez is batting a tremendous .397 vs. RHP.

2. P - Cole Hamels: Philadelphia Phillies

Since posting an ugly 7.02 ERA over his first three starts, Cole Hamels has dominated baseball to the tune of a terrific 2.22 ERA in his past 13 outings. More of the same should be in store, as he'll take on a weak Atlanta Braves' offense tonight that ranks just 28th in the league in runs per game. In his last three starts against these Braves, Hamels is 3-0 with a microscopic 1.13 ERA to go along with 24 K's in 24 innings of work.

Fantasy's No. 1 first baseman has cranked up his play in July, as he's batting a lofty .391 with 11 extra-base hits in 46 at bats. Paul Goldschmidt is batting 81 points higher against southpaws this season, and will face a struggling one this evening. Travis Wood will take the mound for the Chicago Cubs at Chase Field in this one, and to go along with a stinky 6.05 road ERA, right-handers are batting .298 against him on the season with nine HRs.
